Retailer Highlight- Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center

February 01, 2016

We are so appreciative of the retailers that carry our maps.  We have decided to highlight them so our readers can find the best shops for travelers across the U.S.

If you are looking for an interesting place to stop amidst your Yellowstone travels, you MUST check out the Grizzly &  Wolf Discovery Center in West Yellowstone!  Driving around this area, grizzlies and wolves may be fairly reclusive.  However, you can always swing into this incredible wildlife preserve and educational facility to observe them.

The facility is Non-Profit that has helped the Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee with their Bear Resistant Product Testing Program for over 15 years .  So if you’re lucky, they may be testing and you can check it out!  They use grizzly bears to test a wide variety of products for use in bear habitats.  This is the ONLY testing facility in North America.  Manufacturers of bear proof containers must pass the test at the Discovery Center to place containers on state and federal land.  Testing is a win-win because the bears love trying to unlock these puzzles and get a treat, and the manufacturers get an accurate representation of what a bear is going to do to their container!

This facility has so many amazing reviews on Yelp and other traveler websites.  We highly recommend you put it on your to-do list in Yellowstone.  … And don’t forget to check out the gift shop!
