Formed between 2 & 3 million years ago and shaped in the ice age, Lake Tahoe is the second deepest lake in the United States. Bounded by the Sierra Nevada to the west and the Carson Range to the east, Lake Tahoe is a veritable plethora of stunning topographical wonder with 10,000 ft. peaks looming over crystal clear, arctic blue water.
From marmots, black bears and eagles to crimson columbines and Jeffrey Pines, the Xplorer Maps Lake Tahoe Map captures not only the magnificent geographical wonder of the landscape but also the rich and diverse flora and fauna that call it home. Finally, the map also captures traditionally and historically significant added treasures like the ship the S.S. Tahoe, the olympic rings of Squaw Valley and the Thunderbird Lodge.
The Lake Tahoe Map project is a collaboration between Xplorer Maps and the Tahoe Heritage Foundation, a 501(c)3 dedicated to preserving and protecting the cultural heritage and natural history resources of the Lake Tahoe Basin through restoration, interpretation, and education. The original artwork has been donated to THF and proceeds from each print sold will be donated to this organization in perpetuity.
The Tahoe Lake Map is 18" wide x 24" tall.
