Original hand-drawn pen and ink/watercolor story map of California featuring major cities of Sacramento in the north and east of Napa Valley (one California’s wine regions), San Francisco as the cultural hub of Northern California in the middle of the Pacific coastline, Los Angeles marked by entertainment being the home to Hollywood and neighbor to Disneyland, and finally San Diego as a last major stop before Tijuana, Mexico.

The map showcases world famous structures along the state’s Pacific coastline such as the Golden Gate Bridge, as well as landmarks running down the eastern border of the state within the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. Within the eastern, mountainous region, the maps displays popular parks and recreation areas such as: Lake Tahoe, Yosemite Valley home to Yosemite National Park and the renowned granite monolith, El Capitan, and further south the map highlights Sequoia National Park and Forest as well as the hottest, driest, and lowest point in the United States, Death Valley.

In addition, the map emphasizes California’s length and in turn diversity of not only climate but consequentially, a broad diversity of marine and land wildlife and plants that thrive within the state. This includes aquatic life to see on the coast such as whales, sea turtles, and an abundance of fish species differing from the land plants and wildlife to the north such as bears, sturgeon and impressive trees within the RedWood National Forest.

The lithograph print by Chris Robitaille of Xplorer Maps is 18’’ wide and 24” tall.

Stunningly beautiful map. Moved away from the state my husband and I were born and raised in a couple of years ago and been feeling very homesick and nostalgic for it recently. These map helps remind us our roots and many of the beautiful landmarks and national parks we have visited before. LOVE it and love sharing it with others.

Beautiful map. The post office sent the map to another part of the state before finally redirecting back to me. It arrived damaged but seller is kind to replace it for me. Great customer service and product.
