Missoula, MT: The Garden City

After nearly a decade of dreaming, Xplorer Maps owner Greg Robitaille has partnered with Destination Missoula to create a long-awaited illustrated map of our vibrant community. Launched at the Grand Opening of Xplorer Maps' new storefront in November 2023, Greg and Emily Rolston brought this idea to life. Over the past year, a working group of 7-10 members from both organizations—including co-founder and illustrator Chris Robitaille—collaborated to share stories and brainstorm the design. The result is more than just a map; it’s a vibrant narrative that showcases Missoula's beauty, history, nature, and community.

Fueled by a shared passion for Missoula, the best small town in America, our collaboration aims to raise awareness and funds to elevate our community while providing a unique keepsake for residents and visitors.

Both organizations have agreed to commit ten percent of proceeds from the Missoula Map and product line for the next ten years to Destination Missoula’s work across the community focused on sustainability and stewardship, being a welcoming and inclusive destination, and enhancing quality of life for residents and quality of experience for visitors. Additionally, one hundred limited-edition signed and numbered giclee prints will be available for purchase and all profits from these prints will be donated to support the work of the Missoula River Ambassador Program—a collaborative initiative between the City of Missoula, the Clark Fork Coalition, Missoula County, and Montana Fish, Wildlife, & Parks that protects the community’s investment in Missoula’s urban river corridor and nurtures a culture of care for the Clark Fork watershed.
