Xplorer Maps Releases Denali National Park and Preserve Map in Time to Celebrate Park’s 100th Anniversary

MISSOULA, MT – Xplorer Maps, the creators of hand-illustrated maps of national parks and travel destinations throughout the world, announced today that it has released the newest fine-art map, Denali National Park and Preserve, highlighting 6 million acres of impressive landscapes and wildlife just in time to celebrate the park’s 100th Anniversary.

World-renowned artist Chris Robitaille, co-founder of Xplorer Maps, illustrated the map using an antique, old-world style and featuring the iconic images from the national park located in Alaska. The map features North America’s tallest peak, Denali at 20,310 feet, and wildlife including grizzly bears, wolves, moose, caribou, Dall sheep, wolverines and more in their natural habitats.

According to Greg Robitaille, president and co-founder of Xplorer Maps, Alaska Geographic and the Denali National Park Service were instrumental in creating the custom-rendered map.  “These organizations provided historical and cultural insight and a passion for the park, with knowledge and depth that we could not have otherwise captured without their support and involvement.”

Xplorer Maps will donate a percentage of the proceeds in perpetuity from map sales to Alaska Geographic to help support the nonprofit’s ongoing conservation and preservations efforts in the park.

For the past three years, the Robitaille brothers (the founders of Xplorer Maps) have been researching Denali National Park and dreaming about visiting, Robitaille said.  “Last year, my wife and I were the fortunate ones.  We finally made it to Alaska, and the trip included a trek into Denali’s incredibly massive, impressive and diverse landscape.”

“Rendering this custom map has been an incredible journey into the most beautiful and awe-inspiring place I have visited in North America,” Robitaille said.  “We are so excited and proud to finally fulfill one of our dreams with Xplorer Maps.”

Robitaille said that over the years, customer demand for Alaska-themed maps has been very high.  In addition to the Denali map, Xplorer Maps will release a state map of Alaska on the Fourth of July.
