Original hand-drawn pen and ink/watercolor story map of one of the most visited national parks in the United States and home to the tallest mountain in North America, Denali National Park. This map showcases common wildlife and landscapes of Alaska including towering mountains and fascinating, formidable wildlife while in comparison to the rest of the United States, the environment of Alaska is unrivaled as being uniquely impressive in its splendor, Denali equally filling that characteristic.
Only 240 miles north of Anchorage (the capital of Alaska on the southern shore of the state), Denali National Park is nestled in the Alaska Range which extends throughout the southeast quadrant of the state. Denali, the prominent peak with an elevation of 20,310 feet, shines from the center of the park in between two distinct regions of the park: the southern portion, which features glaciers that cover one million square miles of the park and the northern portion of the park which is covered by scrub vegetation and spruce woodland. Of the one million acres that glaciers cover in the southernmost portion of the park, one can find many smaller glaciers neighboring some of the more renowned glaciers: Ruth, Muldrow and Kahiltna Glacier, all of which are the longest in the park reaching more than 30 feet in length.
In the northern portion of the park, the forested woodland environment is home to the wildlife that attracts people from all over the world to Denali National Park featuring: Grizzly bears, Dall sheep, red foxes, wolverines, Gyrfalcons, golden eagles, beavers, lynx, moose, wolves, martens and more. Spread throughout the forested region visitors can also enjoy a variety of native plants such as: Windflowers, Forget-me-nots, Mountain Avens, Cotton Grass, and Alaska's state flower, Fireweed.
Denali being such a highly sought after tourist attractions, this map showcases key attractions for people to visits including: Talkeetna Ranger Station, Denali, Visitor Center, Eielson Visitor Center, as well as the Fannie Quigley house (a historic cite that celebrate the life of a true Alaskan pioneer).

Beautiful map. I love how the artwork brings the geographic features and wildlife to life. This is the kind of art you can admire at length.
